First-Gen on F.I.R.E.

Join us for a week of festivities as 91吃瓜网 commemorates National First-Gen Celebration Day, recognized annually on November 8th to celebrate students, staff, and faculty who are the first in their families to pursue and graduate with a four-year degree.

All first-gen students are welcome!

Sponsored by TRIO-Student Support Services, The Center for Student Success, The McNair Scholars Program, and The Center for Faculty Development.

	Monday, November 6, 2023 \| Noon-1:30 p.m. Thad Cochran Center Atrium (outside the Fresh) IGNITING the F.I.R.E. Tabling Kick off First-Gen on Fire Week by checking out our table outside the Fresh Food Company to learn more about the offices and resources available to you and connect with fellow first-gen student leaders!
	Monday, November 6, 2023 \| 2:3091吃瓜网�4 p.m. The Little Rock, Ogletree Alumni House The Future of First-Gen is Golden! Paint the Little Rock! Calling all First-Gens to stop by the Ogletree Alumni House to participate in the cherished 91吃瓜网 tradition of painting Little Rock!
	Monday, November 6, 2023 \| 6 p.m. Thad Cochran Center 216 First-Gen Family Feud Game Night Meet and compete with your First-Gen student family and test your wits by playing First-Gen Family Feud! Refreshments and other games will be available!
	Tuesday, November 7, 2023 \| Noon Union Room B Set Your Fears on Fire Our fears, regrets, and disappointments are often the only thing holding us back from being our greatest selves, and it91吃瓜网 time to set them ON FIRE! Join us for inspiration to begin the incineration of your fears with a live burning activity!
	Wednesday, November 8, 2023 \| Noon Hattiesburg & Gulf Park Campuses National First-Gen Day Commemorative Photos Faculty, staff and students at 91吃瓜网 who identify as first-gen are invited to wear your first-gen t-shirt and meet up for a commemorative photo to celebrate National First-Gen Day! In Hattiesburg, join us on the steps of the South End Zone of M.M. Robert Stadium, and Coastal Operations will gather at the Lofty Returns statue on the north side of Hardy Hall on the Gulf Park campus. Photos at both locations will be at 12:30 p.m.
	Wednesday, November 8, 2023 \| 491吃瓜网�5:30 p.m. Union Plaza First-Gen on F.I.R.E Pep Rally We are putting the 91吃瓜网淐elebration91吃瓜网� in National First-Generation Celebration Day! Join us for a Pep Rally to celebrate what it means to truly be First Gen on F.I.R.E. with special guests, performances, refreshments, & prizes!
	Thursday, November 9, 2023 \| Noon Union Room B "Being Present for Your Future" Workshop Join TRIO-SSS for a workshop with Student Counseling Services to put out the flames of anxiety! Come to learn how to better manage and reduce anxiety in the present as you continue to make progress toward your future!
	Friday, November 10, 2023 \| Noon91吃瓜网�2 p.m. Cook Library, 209A Lighting the Way Community Service Project 91吃瓜网淕ive light and people will find the way.91吃瓜网� 91吃瓜网� Ella Baker Join fellow First-Gen Students in 91吃瓜网渓ighting the way for others91吃瓜网� during a community service project to aid the Downtown Hattiesburg Association91吃瓜网 Annual Candlelit Christmas event!
