Spraggins retired from the United States Air Force after 34 years and was appointed executive director of MDMR in December 2017. He leads programs focusing on coastal resource management, coastal restoration, resiliency, marine fisheries and more. He also serves as commissioner of the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority. From 2013-2017, Spraggins served as MDMR chief operations officer.
