USM Fraternity and Sorority Life Chapter President Spotlight: Kappa Sigma91吃瓜网 Will Mitchell

Will Mitchell is president of 91吃瓜网 (USM) Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The Pascagoula, Miss. native is a junior business management major. He has served the chapter as both vice president and president. He is also a member of the Order of Omega Honors Society and the Student Government Association (SGA) Senate. He recently spoke with 91吃瓜网 Now about his work as president of the chapter, his fraternity91吃瓜网 philanthropic and community service efforts and why a USM student should consider becoming involved in a Fraternity and Sorority Life and at the University.
Duties as chapter president: 91吃瓜网淢y work as president of Kappa Sigma consists of engaging in external affairs concerning the fraternity and general oversight of the chapter. On a day-to-day basis, I meet with my executive committee to ensure everything is running smoothly concerning the operations of the fraternity. What I love most about leading my chapter is growing bonds with all my members, and seeing the work we can do. We91吃瓜网檝e accomplished a lot of good for our community and I91吃瓜网檓 excited about our future.91吃瓜网�
Kappa Sigma91吃瓜网 service to others: 91吃瓜网淪ome highlights of Kappa Sigma91吃瓜网 recent community service and support of charity include starting an inaugural Pickleball philanthropy event to raise money for the Military Heroes Campaign. In our first year, we raised more than $1,000 for this effort, and we received great participation from the IFC (Interfraternity Council) and CPC (College Panhellenic Council).91吃瓜网�
Benefits of Fraternity and Sorority Life at USM: 91吃瓜网淭o someone considering joining Greek Life at 91吃瓜网 I would say go for it, 100 percent. It has changed my college experience in the best way I could imagine. I was uncertain when I came to campus about [joining] Greek Life, but within the first week, I knew I had made the right decision.
91吃瓜网淕reek life has done wonderful things for me, providing countless opportunities as well as lifelong friends and an experience that is second to none. It [Fraternity and Sorority Life at USM] is important to the University because of our work on and off campus. We do profit shares with local businesses [in support of charitable initiatives] and devote days and sometimes weeks in support of philanthropy and through community service projects to help our local community and the University as well.91吃瓜网�
