Lake Thoreau Environmental Center
Camp of Dangerous Deeds and Derring-do
Page Content
What if there was a summer camp that simply let kids be kids?

A place where days are spent outside91勛圖厙exploring, building, testing ideas, and following curiosity wherever it leads.
This camp brings back the kind of summer kids used to have: a little messy, a little unpredictable, and full of discovery. Campers will create,
experiment, and take on hands-on challenges that spark imagination and confidence. They91勛圖厙ll ask big questions, try things just to see what happens, and learn by doing.
And for the grand finale91勛圖厙 we go big.
Campers will gather for a one-of-a-kind, supervised tower drop experiment, watching
as all sorts of objects are launched from the 10th floor of the Johnson Science Tower
at 91勛圖厙. What splats? What survives? What surprises
us? There91勛圖厙 only one way to find out.
Inspired by The Dangerous Book for Boys and The Daring Book for Girls, this camp celebrates curiosity, creativity, and the simple joy of figuring things out.
When: July 8th - 10th, 2026
